Callum and Naomi first meet each other at a Judika concert in Berastagi, April 2016. It wasn't until a lucky swipe right 4 months later that their relationship began.
A mutual love of coffee, cake and travel bounded them together and made the duo inseparable.
After over 2 years in the beautiful city of Medan, Callum and Naomi moved to Sheffield to continue their studies. As a life long Leeds fan, Callum had to go undercover in the Blades hometown where he completed his Degree as an Art teacher. Naomi embraced her first time out of Asia learning the Yorkshire accent, tasting the snow and becoming one of the Carr clan. In 2020 their journey together was hampered by the global pandemic.
Naomi returned to Indonesia and the world went into lockdown. The passing of Callum's mother made this time especially challenging but as Liz Carr once said "tough times don't last, tough people do". After over 2 years apart Callum and Naomi were finally reunited.
In year 6, July 2022 at a hotel in Lake Toba where they had first holidayed together they got engaged. Shortly after this Naomi landed a job in Kuala Lumpur which is where they are living together now, happily and stronger than ever.
If giving is a sign of your love, you can give cashless gifts to the bride's account or gifts to the bride and groom's address
Send greetings and prayers of blessing for us
For the presence and blessings of all of you,
we say
For guests coming from overseas we recommend staying in Batam for 2 nights (2nd and 3rd June). You can stay at the Swiss-Belhotel Harbour Bay which you can book on booking.com. Other hotels in the area include Four Points by Sheraton, Best Western Premier Panbil and Marriott Hotel Harbour Bay. You can fly into Batam Airport (Bandara Hang Nadim) from a number of destinations or take a ferry over from Singapore which takes around 1 hour.
We'd advise taking a bit of cash as there is a charge for the visa on arrival of about 50USD.
The best way to get to your hotel via the airport is the Airport taxi. You can find the booth by the main enterance and then ask them to use the meter, price should be around RP 150,000/ $9.00. We will be putting on a coach service for the day of the wedding to transport guests from the church back to the Golden View Hotel which is where the wedding reception will be.
Remember that Batam is a tropical climate with temperatures around 25c -30c and high humidity.
If you wish to continue your travels after the wedding here are some suggestions:
1. Bintan Island, 1 hour ferry ride from Batam has some beautiful beaches and nice resorts https://www.bintanholiday.com/
2. Malaysia has many attractions and is easy to travel around. You can take the direct flight from Batam airport to Subang or Kuala Lumpur Airport in just over 1 hour.
3. Further afield you also have Bali but you will need to layover in Jakarta to get here. Thailand is another great option but again, there are no direct flights so you will need to layover in Kuala Lumpur
